The location was perfect, exactly where you want to be in the old town with heaps of restaurants close by.

The hotel provided was absolutely perfect. The room had enough space for two people and was very clean. Pajamas (t-shirts and sweatpants) were provided for guests and were free to use. A coin-operated laundry room was available downstairs. The bathroom and toilet were also very spacious and clean. The bathing area on the 3rd floor was the safest to use as it was accessible only to women. Several food and drink vending machines were available in the lobby, and the check-in and check-out process was very smooth. The location was also close to Nishiki Market ob right side, and left side near to Starbucks and local cafe shop.

The rooms were small, which is expected for Japan, but the space was used very well and comfortably fit two people and two large suitcases. The futon-style beds were surprisingly comfortable, and we were provided with pajamas as well as all other toiletries. The shared bathroom facilities were fantastic and very clean, and I especially liked that you could only access any of them with a room key. The location is also fantastic, it is right off Nishiki market, close to a bus stop and about a 10 minute walk to the nearest train station. I would even say it is wheelchair accessible, as there is a small ramp to get inside, and elevators to access all floors. I also loved the shared lounge/lobby area, there were multiple maps and city guides that were extremely helpful for planning my stay.

Location was great, in busy area right near Nishiki Markets. The showers and toilets were very clean. Rooms and beds were also very clean and comfortable. The mattress is firm but not uncomfortable for me however my son found it uncomfortable. It also very quiet. Good amount of washer/dryers to use so we didn’t have to wait to use a machine.

On initial check of the rooms we thought they were tiny but we quickly got used to just keeping our stuff neat and under the beds. The hotel location was awesome! We walked everywhere. Our teens loved all the shops at our doorstep. Staff were so helpful. For example I asked if there was a public phone nearby and they searched for one then printed me out a map showing me how to get there. The bathrooms and rooms were spotless. Fresh towels and pyjamas every day. Beds were comfortable and the heater / air conditioning in the room worked well. We left our bags there the whole day after check out. Washing machines were cheap and efficient. Microwave and hot water in lobby. Shared space was good for a family too. The rates booked 9 months in advance for 6 people were the cheapest I found in Kyoto but the quality far exceeded the price.

The location is impeccable: in downtown Shijokarasuma, Kyoto, on the route of Gion Matsuri floats processions. The hotel is tidy and clean, with too much helpful info on walls to tell you good breakfasts, restaurants, shops...around. The staff are fluent in English and ready to help guests. The breakfast is served by Doutor Café. The public shower room and laundry are clean and convenient. The price is super economic.

The location was great. Facilities were clean. Staff were kind and friendly even with a language barrier. Staff were often cleaning bathrooms etc so they were very well-kept. The communal area on the ground floor was pleasant and well-maintained. Great value for money. Would stay here again if in Kyoto.

The bathrooms were amazing, super well equipped with foot towels, hairdryers, mirrors, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and multiple hooks in each shower cubicle. the towels were replaced every day, with a bath towel and a face towel provided. everything was super super clean and the staff were so friendly and accomodating. we even extended our stay by a night as we loved it so much! the location was AMAZING- a super short walk to multiple stations, and in the centre of everything right off shijo st. nishiki market was 30 seconds away, and we never had to walk more than 2 minutes to a convenience store or food. loved loved loved this place, everything was perfect, would 100000000000000000% stay again.

For anyone visiting Kyoto and looking for a centrally located yet affordable place to stay, this hotel is a standout choice. Located just steps from Nishiki Market and the Gion district, it offers small but impeccably clean rooms, with shared (female-only) bathrooms and toilets that are always spotless. The combination of its prime location, cleanliness, and high-quality facilities makes it an excellent choice for travellers.
